Job duties include conducting applied hydrologic and hydrogeologic research that includes contributing to the development of analytical and numerical models to characterize groundwater flow and quality. Identify data required to develop numerical model input data sets from available hydrologic and hydrogeologic data. This involves the development of digital data from non-digital data sources, transformation of GIS data into formats consistent with numerical model formats, and review and transformation of well data from outside sources.     Environmental Scientist III job duties include providing expertise and support for scientific assessments, including study design, sampling, and data analysis, to characterize the impacts to surface waters from watershed activity, point and nonpoint contributions, modifications in hydrologic regime, or other factors to assure protection of biological and water quality resources. Environmental Scientist IV job duties include analyzing and reviewing water quality, hydrologic, wetland plant and organism data to evaluate designated use impairments, project effectiveness, and environmental goal achievement.
